Acura NSX Engine & Performance
As a supercar, the NSX has a lot to live up to. The NSX uses the entirely new Acura Sport Hybrid SH-AWD Power Unit in a four-motor, high-performance hybrid system. Outstanding handling characteristics are achieved with torque-vectoring all-wheel drive, while hybrid fuel efficiency is attained with the use of three motors: one direct-drive motor integrated with the V6 gasoline engine, and two separate electric motors driving the front wheels. A new Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) provides instant delivery of negative or positive torque to the front wheels during cornering, which provides superior handling than traditional AWD systems. The NSX has a maximum horsepower of 573 hp, with 406 lb.-ft. of torque in the V-6.
The next-generation V6 engine is mid-mounted to provide a low center of gravity and improve cornering characteristics, while it is both extremely efficient and powerful thanks to direct injection and VTEC technology. The built-in direct-drive motor provides instantaneous torque for supercar performance at all speeds.
Acura NSX Interior
The new NSX interior design arises from the “Human Support Cockpit” theme which reflects Acura’s focus of connecting man and machine. In addition to premium materials throughout, the interior provides excellent visibility, an exotic driving position, and an intuitive “Simple Sports Interface” with carefully designed instrumentation to help drivers stay focused on the road.
Leather seating and trims; a 7-inch display audio, high-resolution WVGA electrostatic touch screen; an 8-speaker and subwoofer sound system; and bluetooth and USB functionalities give the NSX a luxurious, yet sporty look–but you’ll have to see it for yourself to know how awesome it truly is.
Acura NSX Exterior Perfection
The new NSX has a low (just 1,161 mm in height) and wide (1,895 mm wide) stance with dynamic lines that enthrall the viewer from every angle. Exterior surfaces are clean and modern while carefully crafted edges hint at supercar performance and provide a high-tech and futuristic feel. The proportions convey a sense of the exotic and nearly supernatural performance that has always been part of the NSX bloodline.
Flush-mounted, automatic power door handles pop out with keyless entry, and the side mirrors are power-heated with integrated LEB turn indicators. The piercing Acura Jewel Eye LED headlamps will gaze back at you if you make eye contact long enough.
Acura NSX Safety Features
You can expect a premium ride like the NSX to come with premium standard safety features, and the NSX delivers with Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Traction Control, an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera with Dynamic Guidelines, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with Location and Pressure Indicators, Brake Assist, and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL). And airbags are abound in the NSX with Single-Stage Driver, Dual-Stage Passenger, Multiple-Threshold Front Airbags (SRS); SmartVent Front Side Airbags; and One-Row Side Curtain Airbags with a Rollover Sensor.
